Hey! St. Patrick’s Day is this weekend, you know.
Have you heard that there’s this saying that people tend to say a lot that day? “Kiss Me, I’m Irish!”
Lots of kissing happens on St. Patrick’s Day. And pinching. It’s a very flirtatious holiday.
Fact: nobody wants to give or receive kisses if your lips are rough or dry or chapped. It’s really best to be prepared for these types of situations.
So let’s make some lip gloss, lovelies!

Are you seeing this cake right now?
Isn’t it the greenest, most chocolatey, most super fun St. Patrick’s Day cake you’ve ever seen?
Mint, chocolate, stout beer and Irish cream, all hanging out together in the same cake, just being delicious and such.
Basically, this layer cake is kind of a big deal.

You know those little snack cakes and individually-wrapped treats that every kid had in their brown-bagged lunch growing up?
I wasn’t that kid. I was the girl with a dinosaur-print thermos full of chicken noodle soup, a plastic bag full of enough carrots to feed a bunny family of 20, and a little can of tomato juice. Weirdest lunch ever, right?
Growing up, my parents never kept any junk food in the house. No candy. No ice cream. No cupcakes. If I wanted a snack, I had to make the tough choice between dehydrated apple slices or vegetables. A few times, my afternoon snack was sauerkraut. Seriously. Sauerkraut. I can’t make this stuff up.
I wonder if my sugar-free childhood had any influence on my decision to go to culinary school and study baking and pastry…

Pizza time: arguably the best, most wonderful time ever, right?
Making pizza from scratch: scary? Difficult? Impossible?
Making pizza dough is wonderful. It’s fun. It’s relaxing. It’s basically my favorite way to spend a lazy Sunday.

I’m a big fan of celebrations. Traditions. Fanfare.
If you know me IRL (in real life!), you know I’m easily excitable. I say “yay!” a lot. With exclamation points, of course.
And yes, sometimes I actually say ”exclamation point.” I verbally punctuate. I know, it’s a little ridiculous.
So. Anyway. I love holidays. And seasons. And holiday seasons! What’s not to like, right? Especially when we’re talking about St. Patrick’s day!
