What Do Instant Pot Steak Bites Taste Like?
These garlic butter steak bites taste delicious, so it’s definitely a dangerous thing that they’re cut into bite-sized pieces! 😂
I suggest using New York strip steak for its marbling. Partner the meat’s naturally rich flavor with high-pressure cooking using the Instant Pot, and you’ll get the most amazing steak bites!
And, of course, the steak bite’s highlight is the buttery, garlicky goodness of the sauce.

After caramelizing the steak bites, we’ll quickly whip up the sauce using beef stock, butter, some simple seasonings, and the secret ingredient: fond.
The fond are the flavorful morsels left after searing the steak bites. Scrape these brown bits with a wooden spoon as you add the stock, butter, and seasonings, and you’re golden.
Are Pressure Cooker Steak Bites Healthy?
These Instant Pot steak bites are a good source of protein, as expected from beef. However, you should still watch your portion sizes to limit your intake of saturated fats.
The good news with these delicious steak bites is they can easily pair with other dishes to create a wholesome meal for the entire family.
For example, instead of serving your garlic butter steak bites with high-carb sides like rice or noodles, why not choose the healthier cauliflower rice? They’re also perfect with something light and nutritious, like a vegetable salad!

What Are The Benefits Of Cooking Steak Bites In Instant Pot?
Pressure cooker steak bites relieve the “pressure” from making steak at home.
It can be intimidating to cook steak because you need to time everything perfectly, or you won’t get the most out of your meat cut. Who would want a gray steak that’s too tough to chew?
Thanks to the Instant Pot, your steak bites will be juicy and tender, even as a novice cook! You don’t need to worry about wasting an expensive cut of steak.

You’ll also be doing everything in the Instant Pot, so you’re not left with a ton of dishes to wash after making the dish.
It’s the perfect main dish when you’re short on time and patience. 😉
Ingredients For Instant Pot Garlic Butter Steak Bites
New York strip steak – This high-end cut has a good amount of marbling, which helps it stay juicy and tender in the Instant Pot. And because NY strip is leaner than other cuts, it’ll be amazing with butter!
Unsalted butter – Use half for searing and the remaining half for pressure-cooking the beef. This helps your Instant Pot garlic steak bites develop a rich crust and deep flavor.
Garlic – Use fresh garlic over garlic powder! Add it after the broth, so it doesn’t scorch and turn bitter.
Beef broth – For deglazing and getting those flavorful browned bits from searing.
Kosher salt – For seasoning the beef before searing. This helps build a tasty foundation for our garlic butter steak bites in Instant Pot!
Ground black pepper – Lends a subtle kick that really complements the garlic butter!
Fresh parsley – For garnishing the pressure cooker steak bites. More than the added pop of color, the herbaceous notes pair well with the richness of the meat!
Tools Needed To Prepare Instant Pot Steak Bites
- Instant Pot for cooking the steak bites
- Paper towels for patting the steak cubes dry
- Wooden spoon for scraping the brown bits after searing the meat
Ingredient Additions & Substitutions For Garlic Butter Steak Bites
Sirloin steak
The best thing about this Instant Pot garlic butter steak bites recipe is you can use it with cheaper cuts of meat as well!
Although sirloin steak cubes have less marbling, this cooking method helps keep them tender and flavorful.
Ghee
What makes these Instapot steak bites taste like they’re from steakhouse restaurants is that beautiful crust from searing the cuts. Butter is already a great choice, but ghee’s higher saturated fat content allows it to handle high heat without degrading.
Chicken broth
You can substitute beef broth for something lighter, like chicken broth!
Water also works in a pinch, but I would add extra seasonings to the steak bites in the Instant Pot for a deeper flavor.

I have made this before using a different recipe and it wasn’t fab… I wanted to now try a recipe for the instant pot and this was the first one I clicked on… but there were no reviews!! Oh goodness!! I decided to go ahead with it anyway and boy and I glad I did! THE STEAK MELTS IN MY MOUTH! I took one bite and yelled OMG! The only change I made was accidental, I forgot to add the salt to the meat before searing so I just sprinkled on after retuning meat to the pot. LOL I also had the gray meat when I seared my first batch! Next batch I made sure it was really hot! I also returned my first batch for a bit of additional searing. Score 1000 out of 10! Thank you!
