Yup. Try saying that three times fast!
Today is Cocktail Friday: The Passover Edition!
I’ve always had a soft spot for Manischewitz, the syrupy-sweet berry flavored wine that’s a staple at any Jewish holiday meal. I had my first taste at a Passover seder when I was about seven, and I’ve been smitten ever since.

Our dogs, Paddington and Winston, may or may not be a little spoiled.
Every day, I fill their water bowl with freshly filtered cold water from the fridge. I always add a handful of ice cubes to the bowl, because Winston is kind of obsessed with ice. One of his favorite pastimes is fishing ice cubes out of the water bowl and placing them in my lap. It’s very sweet. And cold
Once a week(ish), we mix their kibble with a little bit of roasted chicken, fresh vegetables and homemade chicken stock. It’s their version of a fancy Sunday dinner. They feast like tiny furry kings.
And yes, I make them dog biscuits, cupcakes, puppy ice cream, and various other types of dog treats.
It’s a little out of control.

Happy Friday, darlings!
The weekend is upon us once again, and no doubt you’ve got some fabulous plans, right? A hot date? Painting the down red? Putting on the ritz?
Are people still putting on the ritz? That sounds ultra-fancy. Like something you need to wear white gloves and a ball gown in order to do properly.

I am one of those people who bakes their own birthday cakes.
It’s not because I don’t have any friends. I’m wicked popular, you guys.
Just kidding. I’m not that popular. But I do have some amazing people I love a lot that seem to like me a little, too. It’s nice.
I bake my own birthday cake simply because I love doing it. It’s my little gift I get to give myself every year. I can dream up any flavor combination I want, and I don’t have to worry if someone doesn’t like it. It’s my birthday cake, after all.
Technically, I could eat the entire thing and it would totally be okay, because everyone knows that calories don’t count on your birthday. That’s just science.

Is it just me, or is a hash literally the most wondrous meal in the entire world?
Endlessly versatile, hearty, satisfying, warming, hash is the consummate delivery system for leftovers. Right?
I mean, it’s just perfect in every way possible. I could eat some amalgamation of hash for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and bedtime snack every single day.
Of all the hash permutations in the world, my favorite is definitely a classic: corned beef hash. And no, we’re not talking about that horrible gruel in a can. No way, dudes. Homemade, all the way. It’s simple!
