bourbon golden beet cupcakes.

Yes! Wait. What?

I know what you’re thinking. How could these possibly taste good, right?

Science? Alchemy? Sorcery?

Maybe it’s magic. I’m not sure. All I know is these are legitimately, undeniably off-the-charts amazing.

composting 101, or everything you’ve ever wanted to know about composting but were afraid to ask!

Ryan and I are obsessed with composting, you guys.

Composting might seem like a strange thing to be obsessed with, but we can’t help ourselves. We just are. Composting is great for the environment and it’s actually fun, so allow me to wax poetic about how awesome it is for a little bit!

all natural spring cleaning, plus a Full Circle Home giveaway!

It’s probably not natural to be as excited about spring cleaning as I am right now.

But I am! We spent the last week spring cleaning our little faces off, and our house feels amazing. Lighter. More livable. More like a home, rather than a series of rooms that held piles of random stuff that just collected dust.

After many trips to Goodwill to drop off donations, stacking recyclable goods by the curb as tall as me, and organizing our closets by color, there was one more room to tackle: the kitchen.

almond brown sugar scrub.

Remember yesterday, when I made homemade almond milk?

Well, hopefully you remember yesterday. If you don’t, you may have some sort of memory problem. Might want to get that checked out by  a doctor or something.

Anyhow, whenever I make any sort of nut milk, I always save the solids that are left behind after straining. There’s so much you can do with them! You can add the ground almond solids to a plain pound cake batter, or spread them out on a sheet pan and dry them out in the oven to make dried almond meal. You could stir a spoonful into your morning oatmeal, or add some to your afternoon smoothie.

Or, you can add a few ingredients and make a simple, powerful all-natural scrub that’s perfect for your face, body and hands!
