- This sushi fold hack requires no cooking, and because the wraps are portable, they’re perfect for sharing or taking on the go.

Ingredients
Nori sheets – These folded sushi wraps have the same crisp nori exterior as sushi rolls. Just watch your cuts so they don’t split in half.
Sushi rice – While these folded sushi wraps are not as delicate as sushi rolls, you still want to include sushi rice in your filling to hold everything together.
Rice vinegar – Of course, the sticky sushi rice calls for a splash of rice vinegar. The sweet-tangy taste also balances the richness of the cream cheese and avocado in this sushi wrap hack.
Sesame oil – For that crave-worthy nutty flavor and aroma. Feel free to experiment with different add-ins to add depth to your wrapped sushi.
Salt and sugar – To round out the flavors of our sushi lunch wrap.
Furikake seasoning – Lends a super enjoyable crunch and complex umami flavor to the sushi rice.
Salmon – We’re using sushi-grade salmon, but cooked and smoked salmon both work.
Avocado – Creamy, buttery, and beautifully complements the savory flavors in the sushi tortilla wrap.
Cream cheese – Cream cheese gives this sushi wrap the same rich, decadent texture and flavor of the trending sushi bake. You can use other sauces, but only ones that won’t spill, since sushi rice wraps are eaten like a sandwich.

Ingredient Substitutions For Asian Wraps
Wrapped sushi filling ideas
Not a fan of salmon? You can use any protein you like, but remember this is a folded sushi. Thicker fillings can make assembly harder, so I’ll stick with deli-style turkey or canned tuna for convenience.
Rice alternatives
Rice helps keep this sushi triangle wrap together, but you can also get creative with alternatives. You can combine cauliflower rice with cream cheese, so it doesn’t fall apart, then add other sauces or fixings for extra flavor.
Sushi toppings to try
Add some pizzazz to your salmon wraps with sushi ingredients like pickled ginger, wasabi, Sriracha, or mango slices!
Tips For Making This Recipe
Serve Immediately
While you can store the leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days, these sushi wraps are best enjoyed right away. You don’t want the nori sheets to lose their crispy texture!
Cooking the Rice
Making sushi rice for the first time? I got you! Here’s an easy Instant Pot sushi rice recipe.
Avoid Broken Nori Sheets
For extra hearty sushi wraps, try a double layer of nori. Just don’t overfill, or the sushi sandwich will be tricky to fold.

Sushi Roll Wrap Recipe FAQs
What else to put in a sushi wrap?
Not a fan of fish? Use tofu! You can also add crunchy veggies like carrots and cucumber for more texture, sprinkle the rice with roasted sesame seeds, and swap cream cheese for spicy mayo.
Can I use cooked salmon in nori sushi wraps?
Of course! If sushi-grade salmon is hard to find, you can bake a regular center-cut salmon fillet from the supermarket. Place it on a lined baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil, season as desired, and bake at 375°F for 12 minutes. You can even toss the salmon slices in soy sauce for extra flavor.
Can I make this sushi wrap recipe vegetarian?
Definitely! These flavorful Asian wraps are a tasty way to sneak healthy vegetables into your routine. Roasted sweet potatoes, eggplant, thinly sliced radish, and bell peppers pair perfectly with sushi flavors and can even be used to make mock fish or eel!
Can I make this sushi wrap recipe ahead of time?
Absolutely! After assembly, refrigerate the sushi rice wraps in an airtight container for up to two days. Any longer, and the texture may be affected.
Are these sushi wraps kid-friendly?
Of course! The mix of rice, avocado, and salmon, along with the rich umami flavors, makes these wraps more kid-friendly than traditional sushi rolls, which some kids may find too plain. They’re also easy enough that kids can help fold the nori wraps themselves!
