Instant yeast – We used instant yeast to skip proofing. Just add your ingredients to a bowl and mix!
Warm water – For activating the yeast.

Tips For Making This Recipe
Check your water temperature
Make sure your water is around 120ยฐF. Too hot and you could kill the yeast; too cold and the dough wonโt rise properly!
Coat Your Fingers in Oil
Coat your fingers in oil so the dough doesnโt stick as you make divots.
Test Your Design
The focaccia dough can be sticky, so it helps to lay out your Christmas tree design on parchment paper first to see what it will look like.

Christmas Tree Focaccia Recipe FAQs
How to tell when the focaccia has risen enough?
Lightly poke the dough. Itโs ready when it slowly returns to shape.
Why does focaccia have dimples on the surface?
The dimples in the Christmas tree focaccia not only trap all the flavorful toppings, like olive oil and herbs, but also help keep the bread dough from rising too fast.
What kind of yeast is best for Christmas tree focaccia bread?
We used instant yeast for this Christmas decorated focaccia bread since it doesn’t require proofing. We havenโt tested this recipe with active dry yeast, but it should work if you adjust the process.
What is the best way to store holiday focaccia bread?
You can wrap your Christmas tree focaccia in plastic wrap and store it in a bread box at room temperature for up to 2 days. For longer storage, refrigerate it in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
