Strawberry Cream Cheese Cinnamon Rolls Recipe FAQs
Can I use bread flour instead of all-purpose flour for cinnamon rolls with strawberries?
Yes! You can make these strawberry cream cinnamon rolls with bread flour, and it’s actually the best choice if you prefer chewier rolls. Bread flour also makes a sturdy dough, perfect for handling the heavy strawberry filling.
How do you get the strawberry filling to stay in the cinnamon rolls?
Roll the dough out evenly and leave a border around the edges when you spread the filling. Then, roll up the dough tightly and pinch the seams to really seal the edges.
Why are my homemade cinnamon rolls not gooey?
Too much flour and overbaking can make your strawberry cream cheese cinnamon rolls dry and not gooey!
Can I still bake cinnamon rolls that didn’t rise?
You can still bake your cinnamon rolls with strawberry pie filling even if they didn’t rise, but they won’t be as fluffy and will likely end up dense. To avoid this issue, make sure to let your dough rise somewhere warm and that you’re using fresh yeast.
Can I make the strawberry cinnamon rolls ahead of time?
Assemble the rolls in the baking pan, cover with plastic wrap, refrigerate, and bake the next day. Just take the pan out of the fridge 30 minutes before baking. You can also freeze unbaked strawberry rolls! Thaw, let them rise, and bake.
