KitchenAid Background
If you are not familiar with the brand, we have provided some background information for you. KitchenAid was founded by Josephine Cochrane in 1886 and completely changed and reinvented the world of cooking. When she originally came up with the idea of the KitchenAid, nine of these machines were showcased.
By her death in 1913, her machines were created at a slightly cheaper price for use in the homes. Though, it was not until 1919 that the idea was fully formed and the name KitchenAid was born.
Since, they have been loved and used by many, growing substantially in popularity. To this day they provide a much-needed hand in the kitchen saving users time effort from having to manually mix the ingredients. They are impressive and powerful machines that have not lost their popularity.
Kitchenaid Professional 6000 HD Review
For this review, we have split each specification into useful sections for you to read.
Design and Cost
This is a professional KitchenAid that is the perfect addition to any kitchen of someone that wants to take their cooking seriously and to the next level. It is a mixer that is on the higher end of the price range, but its quality is certainly reflected in the price.
Overall, the 6000 HD looks very similar to other models of KitchenAid’s as they all have their quintessential style. This model in particular comes in a range of colors such as red. It is a sleek and glossy mixer and given the quality of the product, it is reasonably priced. It has a tulip-shaped design and a handle for comfort.
The only issue users have found with the design of this KitchenAid is that the head of the KitchenAid does not tilt back for ease of use as some of its other models, this makes it slightly more difficult to remove the mixing bowl after use. There is also a slight gap in the switch area which could potentially cause initial power issues, but the vast majority of users have had no issues with this.
Power Hub
The Power Hub is a particularly great feature of the KitchenAid because it allows the machine to be multifunctional. The Power Hub allows you to use multiple different attachments such as:
- Pasta roller and cutter
- Spiralizer
- Juicer and sauce attachment
- Food grinder
- Ice Cream maker
- Food processor with dicing kit
- Fruit and vegetable strainer
- Meat grinder
- Sifter and scale attachment
If you would like to browse the whole list of KitchenAid attachments available, you can do so here.
As you can see from the list above, the KitchenAid is capable of a lot more than just mixing and is an all-round great addition to anyone’s kitchen. It is not your average mixer and is multipurpose. The company has utilized this machine brilliantly and the attachments are innovative and helpful.
Please note that the attachments listed above do not come with the Kitchen Aid. These attachments will need to be parched separately at an additional cost.
Accessories Included
Although the KitchenAid 6000 does not come with any of the additional attachments, it does come with some of the basic accessories you will need, such as:
- Dough Hook
- Six wire whisk
- White coated flat beater
All of these accessories are particularly helpful and provide everything you will need to mix your ingredients.
Bowl-Lift Design
This is a great feature of the KitchenAid professional 6000. The bowl-lift design is what will support your mixing bowl while the ingredients are being mixed.
As this is a professional machine it allows you to mix particularly heavy ingredients, especially when compared to its competitors. The machine is sturdy and the lift design is powerful enough to hold your ingredients with no issue.
The arms are particularly strong and lift even heavier bowls with ease to be mixed. The bowl-lift is accurate and places the bowl in the correct place for the ingredients to be mixed correctly.
6-Quart Stainless Steel Bowl
The 6-quart stainless steel bowl is a fantastic feature of the KitchenAid. It is what you will mix your ingredients in and it is made specifically to hold a lot of ingredients by having a deep base.
To give you some perspective into how big this mixing bowl is, it can hold enough ingredients to make eight and a quarter loaves of bread, eight pounds of mashed potato, and even thirteen dozen cookies! This KitchenAid is perfect if you have a larger family, are a professional baker, or if you enjoy making your meals in batch!
The bowl can be placed into the dishwasher for easy cleanup, however, if you have a smaller dishwasher, as the bowl is on the larger side, it may be more difficult for you to fit it in.
Some users have commented on some minor issues with the mixing bowl. They have noted that upon first use the bowl left some black residue on the ingredients that were being mixed. This is worth keeping in mind as you should ensure that you have washed and scrubbed the bowl and attachments of your KitchenAid thoroughly before using it.
67 Point Planetary Mixing Action
This mixing action allows the ingredients to be mixed thoroughly in the KitchenAid. With each rotation, the mixer has seventy-six touchpoints. This should help to limit any lumps or unmixed ingredients in your bowl.
Not only does it mix the ingredients, but it will rotate around the mixing bowl to ensure that there is even coverage and will reach the parts of your mixture at the edge of the bowl too.
1 HP DC Motor
The HP motor allows the KitchenAid to be more energy efficient as it does not require a high wattage compare to other brands of kitchen mixers. The HP motor is stable and strong, allowing heavy mixtures to be mixed with ease.
Even if you are using particularly dense and heavy mixtures, the KitchenAid 6000 will have no issues mixing it to a professional standard. The motor is powerful and is also quiet. It does not heat up when in use.
Settings
This KitchenAid comes with a range of settings and speeds to choose from so you have a variety of options to choose from.
The different speed settings are found on the side of the KitchenAid head and are easy to operate and choose between.
