Introduction

Growing up, the only fruits that start with A that you probably only ever ate were Apples, Apricots, and other regular fruits you see in the supermarket when you go shopping.

The first two varieties of Asian pears are native to Japan, while the last variety hails from China. Most people that have come in contact with these pears refer to them as “Apple Pears.” In taste, this fruit is both sweet and tart, and they have a strong aroma and low acidity.

2. Apple Berry

This native Australian fruit also goes by the scientific name Billardierascandens, or more commonly, “apple dumplings”. The first thing you should know about Apple berries is that they do not look like Apples at all. As opposed to apples, they are elongated in shape. In taste, expect a stewed apple kind of taste with fruity flavors.

3. Apricot

6. Atemoya

Other Atemoyas can come in round shapes too. In taste, this fruit has a hint of tartness, but it is sweet, juicy, and smooth. 

7. Arava Melon

10. Amanatsu

The reason is, this fruit is creamy, buttery, and nutty. They aren’t up to the size of the regular nuts, but they last long, thanks to their shelf life. 

13. Acai Berries

This fruit is high in antioxidants, making it suitable for treating inflammation. They are natives of the Brazilian Amazon region. You’ll recognize this fruit because of its dark purple skin.

14. Alpine strawberry
