Ingredients
FOR THE GHANAIAN MEAT PIE FILLING:
- 1 tbsp cooking oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 300 g ground beef
- 2 tbsp tomato puree
- Salt to taste
- ½ tsp all-purpose seasoning
- 1 bouillon cube, chopped
- 1 green pepper, chopped
FOR THE GHANAIAN MEAT PIE DOUGH:
- 3 â…“ cups self-rising flour
- Pinch salt
- 1 cup + 1 tbsp unsalted butter, cold
- ¼ cup water, cold
- 1 egg, whisked
Instructions
GHANAIAN MEAT PIE FILLING:
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and cook until softened.
- Add the ground beef and cook, stirring occasionally, until browned.
- Stir in the tomato puree and cook for 2 more minutes.
- Season with salt, all-purpose seasoning, and chopped bouillon cube.
- Remove from the heat and stir in the chopped green pepper. Set aside to cool.
