Many families rely on yogurt cups as an easy snack, but one popular brand has just been pulled from shelves across the country after safety complaints.
Parents and kids are being urged to stop eating YoCrunch yogurt immediately due to a serious plastic contamination that has now led to a full nationwide recall.

Every flavor and size of YoCrunch yogurt currently in stores is being recalled. This includes products with candy or granola toppings in both single and multi-packs. The affected items are sold across the U.S., and no specific stores have been excluded from the alert.
Dangerous Plastic Pieces were Found in the Lids
The recall was triggered after customers found sharp plastic pieces inside the dome lids, where the toppings are kept. The plastic bits were clear, jagged, and measured between 7 and 25 millimeters in length. That is enough to pose a choking or injury risk.
Danone Issued the Recall Voluntarily
Danone U.S., the maker of YoCrunch, announced the recall on July 11 after several reports from consumers. While the contamination only affects the topping lids, not the yogurt itself, the company chose to recall all affected products for full safety.
The FDA is Now Overseeing the Recall
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is now working with Danone to ensure that the recalled YoCrunch yogurts are removed from store shelves. Consumers are being urged not to consume the product and to either dispose of it or contact Danone for instructions.

Some of the products being recalled include YoCrunch Vanilla with M&Ms (UPC 46675000792), Strawberry with Granola (UPC 46675000105), and Vanilla with Oreo (UPC 46675000808). The full list covers over 15 UPC codes, including multi packs and club size options.
The Problem is Limited to the Topping Domes
According to Danone, the plastic contamination was found only in the dome packaging where toppings like Oreo pieces or granola are stored. The yogurt itself was not directly affected, but the presence of sharp plastic still makes the whole unit unsafe to eat.

Some Affected Products were Club Sized Packs
Club sized bundles like the 18 count YoCrunch Vanilla Oreo and Vanilla M&M pack (UPC 46675027010) are also included in the recall. These packs are popular among families who shop in bulk, which makes the reach of this recall much broader than most.

No Reports of Injury have been Confirmed Yet
