Instructions

  • Pat the black olives and mozzarella balls dry with paper towels. Arrange the black olives in the top left corner of a white serving platter, forming a tight rectangle to represent the Union of the American flag.

  • Press a small star-shaped cookie cutter firmly into the white cheddar slices. Push the stars out from the back of the cutter and repeat until you have enough white stars for the flag's canton.
step 2 American Flag Charcuterie Board
  • Starting to the right of the olive section, create alternating horizontal rows of cherry tomatoes and mozzarella balls across the full width of the charcuterie board. Keep each row snug against the previous one.
  • To finish the flag, place the white cheese stars over the olive canton. You can gently press them down to help them stay in place.

Notes

  • Make sure to use a rectangular board so the straight edges align with the flag design. Also, keep your arrangements nice and tight for a neat presentation.
  • Serve this savory American flag charcuterie board with a bowl of balsamic glaze or a creamy dip like garlic aioli to round everything out. You can also offer crackers and sliced baguette for scooping up the toppings and give your guests more ways to enjoy the board.
  • You can slice the tomatoes and drain the olives the night before to save time. Just store them in airtight containers in the fridge. Assemble your American flag–themed charcuterie board no more than 2 hours before serving to keep everything fresh!
