Instructions

  • Push the blueberries into a tight, compact rectangle in the top left corner of the board.
  • Starting at the top right, next to the blueberry canton, work downward in horizontal rows across the full width of the board. Begin with the rows of red cherries and mozzarella balls, arranged snugly together.

  • Next, lay the red bell pepper strips flat lengthwise, followed by the rice crackers, slightly overlapping.

  • For the next rows, arrange the sausages flat side down, followed by the white cheddar squares.

  • Finally, add the row of strawberries at the bottom, cut-side up. Make sure each row is packed tightly against the next so the flag has no visible gaps.
  • Straight from the fridge, cut the slice of white cheddar cheese into stars using a small star cookie cutter.
  • Arrange the stars across the blueberry field, pressing each one down gently to secure it in place. Serve within an hour for the best texture and presentation. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Treat the ingredients we used in this patriotic charcuterie board as suggestions! Add whatever is in season, consider food allergies, or just use what pairs best with your 4th of July menu.
  • For food safety, this American flag charcuterie board is best enjoyed within 1 to 2 hours. It's always better to serve a smaller amount and refill than to have a full board sitting out too long. Summer can be brutal!
  • Serve this July 4th charcuterie board alongside a pitcher of red, white, and blue sangria and a plate of patriotic chocolate-covered strawberries for a complete spread. Small bowls of honey, jam, and blue cheese dip on the side make great additions as well!
