These Halloween deviled eggs add a spooky twist to the classic appetizer. The spiderweb-like cracks and ghoulish green centers take almost no effort!

Instructions

  • Boil the eggs.

  • Roll the eggs on the table or counter to create cracks, then place them in a plastic bag. Do not remove their shells.
  • Combine black food coloring, vinegar, and water, then add them to the bag. Seal and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
  • Peel the eggs.
  • Slice the eggs in half lengthwise. Scoop out the yolks and transfer them to a bowl.
  • Mash the egg yolks with mustard, mayonnaise, soy sauce, salt, black pepper, and green food coloring until smooth.

  • Transfer the green yolk mixture into a bag and pipe it back into the egg halves. You can also scoop it into the egg whites.

  • Finish your Halloween deviled eggs with black sesame seeds on top.

Notes

  • These Halloween deviled eggs will taste fantastic with some kick from sriracha!
  • Instead of rolling them on a flat surface, you can also use the back of a spoon to crack the shells of your Halloween eggs!
  • Place your eggs in a saucepan and add enough cold water to cover them by an inch. Bring to a gentle boil over medium-high heat and turn off the heat once the water boils. Cover the pan and let the eggs sit for 10 minutes before transferring them to an ice bath to cool completely.
