Instructions

  • Rinse your fruits under cold water, then pat them dry with paper towels. Cut off the hull end of the strawberries and slice them into quarters.
  • Hold a skewer in one hand and thread the ingredients in this order: strawberry, marshmallow, blueberry. Repeat the pattern until each skewer is filled, leaving an inch at the bottom for handling.

  • You can lay your 4th of July fruit skewers on your platter, all pointing in the same direction, or try a more creative arrangement and make them look like the American flag.

Notes

  • Make your 4th of July fruit kabobs extra patriotic and use them to create an American flag! Just thread 4 to 5 blueberries on 4 to 5 skewers, followed by alternating marshmallows and strawberries. On the other skewers, alternate strawberries and marshmallows, so the first and last ingredients on each skewer are both strawberries.
  • To showcase the red, white, and blue pattern best, use skewers that are at least 6 inches for these Fourth of July fruit kabobs. Your ingredients should also be at least 1/2 inch thick for easy piercing.
