– 2 to 3 Fuji Apples – 1/4 cup dark brown sugar – 1/4 cup granulated sugar – 1 tsp vanilla extract – 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon – A pinch of salt – A pinch of ground nutmeg – A pinch of ground cloves
1. Peel the apples, core them and then cut them into even-sized chunks. 2. Add the sugars and spices. 3. Stir everything together until the apples are well-coated. 4. Place the pot on the stovetop over low to medium heat. Let the mixture come to a gentle simmer.
5. Cook the mixture for about 2 to 3 hours, stirring occasionally. Make sure the apples soften completely and the mixture thickens without burning. 6. Once it has cooked down, remove it from the heat. Use an immersion blender to blend everything until smooth.
