liqueur recipe

Ingredients:

– 2 blood oranges, quartered – 3 clementines, quartered – 3 lemons, quartered – 2 limes, quartered – 3 tangerines, quartered – 10-12 kumquats, halved – 1 cup simple syrup – 2 whole cinnamon sticks – 4-5 whole green cardamom pods – 3-4 whole cloves – 3 whole allspice – sufficient vodka or grain alcohol]

HOW TO MAKE:

Combine 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water in a saucepan over medium heat. Dissolve sugar without boiling. Transfer to airtight container.

HOW TO MAKE:

Add sliced citrus, simple syrup, cinnamon sticks, cardamom pods, cloves, and allspice to the jar. Pour in vodka or grain alcohol to cover fruit completely. Shake gently. Store in a cool, dark place. Shake daily.

HOW TO MAKE:

Pour contents through a mesh sieve into a bowl. Press fruit to extract liquid. Discard solids. Line sieve with coffee filters. Pour liqueur through filters into another bowl. Repeat if desired.

HOW TO MAKE:

Taste and add more simple syrup if needed. Transfer to clean glass container. Store at room temperature or refrigerate for up to 6 months. Enjoy!

Jollof rice is like a fusion of rice and tomato stew, best enjoyed with chicken. My mouth is watering just thinking about Jollof and Chapman!
