with Onion Soup Mix

Ingredients:

– 2 tsp salt, divided – 2/3 cup all-purpose flour – 3 lbs beef stew meat – 1/4 cup vegetable oil – 2 white onions, sliced – 8 cups beef broth – 3 potatoes, peeled and diced – 4 carrots, peeled and sliced – 1 tsp ground black pepper – 2 tsp garlic powder – 2 tsp dried thyme – 1 pack onion soup mix – 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce – 1 tbsp tomato paste – Non-stick cooking spray

HOW TO MAKE:

Combine salt and flour in a bowl, then coat beef stew meat evenly.

HOW TO MAKE:

Brown beef cubes in oil in a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat, then transfer to the slow cooker.

Cook onions in the same skillet until soft, then add to the slow cooker.

Pour beef broth into the skillet, scraping to remove fond, then add to the slow cooker.

HOW TO MAKE:

Top meat in slow cooker with potatoes and carrots.

Mix remaining broth, salt, pepper, garlic powder, dried thyme, onion soup mix, Worcestershire sauce, and tomato paste in a bowl. Add to slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours until meat is tender.
